Jewelry is my all-time favorite thing to get for the holidays. I don’t need super expensive diamonds or gemstones though. I love getting dainty little items that I can swap in and out of my daily wardrobe. Of course, major bonus points are awarded if it’s purposeful jewelry being handed my way. Jewelry is something so personal, which makes it all the more exciting when someone nails the gift. I’ve put together a list of my top five fool-proof purposeful jewelry brands that just about everyone will love.
I really hate to use the term gift guide around here. I know that it’s popular, but I’m not really guiding you to buy these purposeful jewelry items. These are all tried and true items that bring a smile my face. I want to share them with you with the hopes that they’ll bring a smile to your face as well. Plus they can bring a smile to even more peoples’ faces because they give back to a great cause. Shopping is a chain reaction, whether you see it or not.
In my mind, the more wearable the purposeful jewelry the better.
Because these are mainly slow fashion items, they can be a bit pricey. That’s why you ask for them for the holidays, right? Hehe. All jokes aside, these are all tried, true, and completely worth your money. Whether you’re looking to buy for yourself, shop for a friend, or give recommendations to other, you can’t go wrong wit these purposeful jewelry brands.
When Lokai first came out, they were known for having water form the highest point in the world and mud from the lowest. It’s all about balance. This brand has done an incredible job of sticking to their roots while expanding to include tons of different products. Their latest are their metallic Lokai bracelets that are only available for a limited time.
Besides having an incredible message, the brand also gives back. The brand give ten percent of every Lokai bracelet purchase to your charity of choice. Sometimes a certain item will be designated to a charity, but this time they’re letting you choose.
Each purposeful jewelry items from this brand comes in the form of a key. The idea is that you order the item you like and put your own word on it based on what you need in your life. When you feel that word has been fulfilled, you pass it on to someone who may need it.
The idea behind The Giving Keys is incredible, but, like Lokai, it’s the brand itself that takes it over the top. The brand isn’t a nonprofit by any means. What they do is so much better. They employ homeless people transitioning out of homelessness, which gives them the ability to make money and earn a resume before heading out into the world.
Like I said before, what you buy is a chain reaction. It matters more than you may think.
I know that I just posted about this in my Black Friday sales, but I couldn’t resist talking about it again. This brand doesn’t have a charitable aspect, but it shows that there are brands worry about the environment. These items might be expensive, but the brand can tell you exactly where they get their materials from, which is important to me.
Like it says on the website, “fast-fashion jewelry is lower-priced for a reason — it relies on cheap, often environmentally damaging materials and questionable labor practices. Almost inevitably it falls apart and ends up in a landfill.”
If you’ve been following the blog for a while, you’ve probably seen this set before. I just had to add it to this list. I’ve been wearing these earrings since the day I got them. I love that they’re simple, but bring a little girl power to every single outfit.
Of course, there’s more meaning to this line than the looks. Are you getting the theme yet? With every purchase, 25 percent of the money goes towards Girls Inc. The organization empowers young women through education and advocacy.
5. Lokai 2.0
Is this cheating? If so, I’m okay with it. Lokai doesn’t just make great traditional bracelets. The brand has since branched out to make jewelry out of recycled materials as well. Their Holiday Collection is limited edition and filled with everything from ring sand bracelets to necklaces. Think: the big sister to their core collection.
No matter which brands you’re shopping off this list, you can guarantee a great holiday gift. What was your favorite brand from the list? Do you like getting jewelry for the holidays? Let me know in the comments!
