I love to get fashion inspiration from Instagram. There are so many people with different styles taking to the app to show of their outfits and accessories. It’s like a surprise look-book, and I love it. Lately, I have been seeing a particular style of bag all over my feed. The blogger favorite tote looks similar to a net and comes in all different styles. The more I saw it, the more the bag grew on me.
Initially it was the see-through aspect of the bag that drew me to it. I love that you can easily carry books or magazines and be able to see what’s inside. None of the bags were tagged in these blogger’s photos, as far as I could tell. So I got online and starting putting together as many phrases as I could until the right thing popped up.
I was completely shocked to see what came up. It turns out that this blogger favorite tote was actually a $1 grocery bag. I can’t make this stuff up! I got on Amazon and ordered two of them to try out for myself. It had to be too good to be true, right? Wrong! Although they took forever to arrive at my doorstep, these bags are just as good as they seemed online.
I started off carrying the bag as a tote, just like the other bloggers I had seen. I love to carry around books with me everywhere I go, so this bag worked out perfectly. It kept my notebooks safe as I traveled from coffee shop to coffee shop. I could even clip my pens to the top. It was even large enough for my to put my computer and case inside.
These blogger friendly tote bags might looks small, but they are mighty.
Amazon had the same exact bag in tons of different colors. Some of the options exceeded the $1 mark. I’m not completely sure why, but the red and white were exactly .97 cents each. I typically don’t buy from Amazon — that’s a story for another day — but I’m so glad that I took the risk.
I started to wonder why it was deemed as a grocery bag after about a week of carting this blogger favorite tote bag around. Reusable bags have been my go-to during my journey to purposeful living. I swapped out my typical plastic one with this cloth netted design to see how things went for my next trip to the grocery store.
According to the EPA, the US uses over 380 billion plastic bags and wraps yearly. The least you can do is spare the dollar to save the planet.
I thought that I was running into the store to grab some essentials, but I was very wrong. I ended up getting a cartful of things and only had two bags with me, so I smashed as much into these cloth bags as I could. You would not believe how well these things held up. Everything from my big box of spinach to apples, rice, and granola bars fit in these bags no problem. I’m talking at least seven plastic bags worth of items.
This blogger favorite tote bag went from accessory to necessity in seconds. It expanded to the size it needed to be for the groceries and then shrunk right back down to be the perfect tote. I’m obsessed to say the least. This bag won’t last as a trendy items forever, of course. Luckily, grocery bags aren’t something that need to be trendy. I can see this blogger friendly tote being a staple in my life for a while.
What do you guys think of the tote? I’d love to hear all about your favorite reusable totes in the comment section. I would really suggest looking into one. For just $1, you can help save the world. It really doesn’t get much easier than that.
