It’s hard to find the right holiday gift. Especially if you’re not around the person every single day. It’s a balance of the right price, usefulness, and thought. Unless, of course, you find a foolproof gift that’s perfect for anyone. Believe it or not, those kind of gifts are out there, and SUAVS is one of them. The shoe brand is changing the way people see footwear for the better. Everyone on your shopping list will appreciate it too.
I first found SUAVS around this time last year. It was right when I was gearing up for my year of living purposefully. The brand offered to send me one of its’ first styles. SUAVS branded itself as a slip-on shoe that was meant to be worn with no socks. Every purchase also gave back to charity. I was intrigued form the start, but was really blown away when I received them.
SUAVS is the most comfortable sneaker I have ever worn. These aren’t running shoes or training shoes. They’re simply lifestyle shoes. I had no idea what that means until I wore them. It didn’t take long for me to realize they were special.
“I want to create footwear for people with active and busy lifestyles who want to look great, but don’t have time to be switching into different shoes,” founder Monxi Garza says. “Comfortable footwear is especially important when you will be wearing the same shoes all day.”
Monxi says it best. You can wear these shoes with almost any outfit all day long. Because at the end of the day, you have more things to worry about than your shoes.
Fast forward to almost a year later and the brand is at it again. This time they created a lace-up sneaker that is just a comfortable as the slip on. While I loved the first shoe, the second one is what sold me. I’m obsessed with these shoes. They’re comfortable, easy to match, and come in tons of different colors. Basically, they’re perfect for everyone on your holiday shopping list.
The perks of the shoe don’t stop there. SUAVS is made with the environment in mind, too. They aren’t built around sustainability, but they are conscious of it. Every little bit matters.
“All of our materials are chemically tested in certified facilities to make sure they’re the safest for both the customer and for the environment before sending the shoes to production,” Monxi tells me. “We also updated our shoe boxes and are now using recyclable cardboard.”
On top of that, the style is perfect for anyone on your shopping list. There are technically men and women styles, but they’re extremely similar. The only difference is the sizing. Each style has a wide selection of colors too, from basic blacks and grays to pops of blues and pinks.
These shoes might not be perfect for winter, but they’re great for every other season. I wore these all fall long, and I can’t wait to sport them in the summer too. They’re super breathable and light, so you almost forget that you’re wearing shoes. I love not having to worry about what shoe I’ll need for the day. You don’t realize how important that is until you have it.
The sneakers are only the beginning for SUAVS too. The brand has the slip ons, tie-up sneakers, and a sneaker with even more support as well. There’s also a limited edition collab with New York-based multimedia artist JayDee as well.
“SUAVS’ mission is to be the pair of shoes in your closet you can just grab and go and not have to think about,” says Monxi. “We want to keep designing and developing better and more comfortable footwear for people with an active lifestyle.”
I can’t wait to see where else the brand expands to. Everything from the fit to the styles are incredible, so I can’t wait to see how they get even better.
This is the type of brand that I can wholeheartedly support. There are so many companies doing the same thing for no reason. SUAVS is challenging to think about the shoes they wear in a new way. Anyone can make a shoe, but not just anyone can master a lifestyle shoe. Add to that the sustainability factor, and you have an all-around great item.
No matter how picky of a person you’re shopping for, this is a foolproof gift. It’s the one thing that people don’t even know they need. Until the shoes are on their feet. Then they won’t know how to live without them.
