This year has brought tons of different discoveries into my life. I’ve searched through countless different thrift stores, hunted down incredible finds at garage sales, and looked through tons of websites. Instead of going far to find new items, I’ve decided to search in my own backyard for some vintage store jewelry. It has definitely paid off this time.
There’s a tiny little secondhand shop right down the road from my house. Individual sellers get to rent a booth and they can sell whatever they want. A lot of them choose to sell vintage items, so you already know that I love it. I went there with my family with the intentions of just spending a Saturday walking around and left with a handful of vintage store jewelry. You really can’t take me anywhere.
Some people look for name brands and high quality when looking for their vintage store jewelry. I just like to collect items that speak to me. That pretty much makes me the worst collector ever, but I’m totally okay with that.
I found some really great vintage store jewelry this time around. They’re items that I can wear all year ’round and are are totally me. You know when you just look at an item and already know that it will match just about everything in your closet? That’s what these items were like for me.
The first pair of earrings caught my eye right away. My first thought was, “oh my goodness, these would look great with a Medusa costume.” Then I realized that I already had three costumes planned and could totally pull them off with my everyday wardrobe. For $3.50, I really couldn’t say no to these. They’re so much fun while being classic-looking all at the same time.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a fun story to go along with this pair of earrings. One of my favorite things to do is hear about where the owner of the vintage store found the item and the story that goes along with them. Unfortunately, the vendors aren’t there to sell their own things, so I couldn’t ask.
These don’t look extremely old, but they caught my eye. I absolutely love the gold color and the texture on these earrings. For $3.50, I really couldn’t turn them down.
Guys, I am officially obsessed with this necklace. Like it might just be the best item vintage store jewelry item that I’ve collected all year. When I first say it, I was drawn to the gold colored flower on the front. It was the perfect addition of bold, statement piece while still being completely subtle at the same time.
I tried this necklace on as soon as I saw it. Well, kind of. At first I didn’t understand why there wasn’t a clasp on the back. Then I realized that the flower piece slid up and down on the chain. You put it all the way to the bottom to put it on and then adjust the length when it’s on.
Enough of my trying to explain it. You need to see this necklace in action for yourself, because it’s so incredible.
How cool is that?! Once I saw how this necklace worked, I couldn’t put it back. Especially since there were a few other people around me that also saw how cool it was too. Just like the other pieces, I’m not sure of the story behind this pieces. What I do know is that I’ve never seen another necklace like this, so I had to give it a home.
I got this super intricate necklace for… drumroll, please… $5. Yes, you read that right. Between the style and the price, I couldn’t put it down.
I’ve already played around with this piece a few different ways. I wore it up high with a button-up shirt, like you see above. It also looks really cool left down low for a statement piece too. I’m super excited to wear it as a choker too, since it can go all the way up. Nothing like taking something old and making it new again.
The last pair of earrings came from the same booth as the first. You can tell by the same swirl design. These were $3.50 too, and I couldn’t pass them up. I try to steer clear of dangling earrings, since my earlobes are so long, but I really like these. I figure I can dress them up or down.
It’s been somewhat of a long time since I stocked up on more vintage shore jewelry, so I’m glad I got some new pieces. One thing I love the most about shopping secondhand, besides giving the piece a new home, is that I can switch up my style without spending a ton.
Let me know which item you like the best in the comment section! I love hearing what you guys think.
