For the past year and a half, I have showed you guys tons of different thrift hauls, shopped together, shared stories, and gave styling tips. Now, it’s time to teach you guys how to thrift. I created a five-day thrift challenge to take you from beginner to thriftonista. Because the more people that thrift, the merrier.
Join the 5-day thrift challenge here!
The biggest question that I get asked — besides how to clean thrifted clothing — is where to start. It’s intimidating. I get it, which is why I am here to help. In just five days, you’ll learn which thrift shops are around you, join the thrifting cycle, and join a community of thrifters that are right there, learning with you. Oh, and it’s all FREE.
When is the thrift challenge?
The thrift challenge starts Oct. 15 and runs through Oct. 19. Yes, five days is all it takes to become a master thrifter!
Who can join?
Literally anyone. Total beginners can learn how to start thrifting, and seasoned thrifters will learn how to take their thrifting to the next level.
How long will each day take?
Most days take about 20 minutes to complete. The only exception is the two days that we visit the thrift store. Those days can take as long as you’d like them to.
Do I have to visit the thrift store every day?
Nope. The beauty of the challenge is in planning. You’ll learn how to plan and get involved in the thrift cycle, which can be done right at home.
Why not. Odds are that you’ve been interested in thrifting, or you wouldn’t be reading this right now. You’ve got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain.
Do I have to do it all at once?
Nope. Of course, things are always more rewarding when you do it with community though. You can follow along with us through #kbthriftchallenge on Instagram.
What will I get?
You’ll get five emails — Monday through Friday — that spell out how to make the most of your thrifting. It starts with research and builds to sharing what you find with fellow thrifters. You’ll also get Instagram story posts and prompts to post on Instagram each day.
Where can I sign up?
Right here! A simple email address, and you’ll be in.
I am a firm believer in thrifting — I don’t think that comes as a surprise to anyone. As much as I love sharing my finds and stories with you all, I want to do more. I want to encourage people to try thrifting and educate people on how it can save the planet. It sounds nerdy, I know. But I believe that it’s true.
It’s also really freaking fun. I hate hearing how people are afraid to try thrifting. While it can be intimidating, it doesn’t have to be. I want to break down the stereotypes around thrifting and prove to you how fun it can be. Who knows, it might just change your life like it did mine.
