I love nail polish. Not only does it help me curb my anxiety and stop biting my nails, but it’s fun. Between collecting new colors and having my own personal ten-minute spa time to apply it, there’s nothing not to love. I’ve have neon nail shades, neutrals, and everything in-between. But when I received white nail polish from Nails Inc., I didn’t think I would like it.
I figured out how to wear the bright shades and grays and reds are no problem, but I didn’t think I would like white nail polish. After all, it is the absence of color. So I decided to just put it on and see what happened. It turns out that I really love white nail polish. I’ve been wearing it non-stop for weeks now and can’t get enough.
It didn’t take me long to find out why I love the trend. Anyone that know me knows that I love the ’90s. I’m a child of the decade, and I don’t think that I’ll ever grow out of that. Everything from the music to the clothing instantly brings a smile to my face. While I didn’t have tons of different nail colors when I was a kid, this white nail polish instantly brought me back to middle school.
When I was in middle school, beauty wasn’t the biggest thing on my mind. I don’t think I wore makeup until the end of high school. I wasn’t really worried about by hair for the most part, either. At least, I didn’t really know what I was doing. There was one thing I my friends and I did do — paint our nails with white nail polish.
Before you get concerned, I know it’s not exactly healthy. I wasn’t the all-natural, healthy living nut that I am today. Yes, looking back at what I used to do in middle school makes me cringe. I just can’t help but smile. Every single time I open the bottle to put the white nail polish on, I get reminded of my childhood.
This might not be the biggest hit of the ’90s or the biggest beauty trend that it’s known for, but it instantly brings me back. Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t pick this shade up sooner. I’ve been wearing white nail polish on its own and with neon designs on top. I’ve also been loving it on my toes. Not to mention that it get bonus points for being an awesome base to make colors really pop.
The only problem with white nail polish is that it dries out super fast. I just have to make sure that I shake it really well before I use it. I have no doubt in my mind that I’ll use the entire bottle before it goes bad though. The color from Nails Inc. lasts about four days on my nails with a base and top coat. It comes off really well though, so I don’t mind re-applying.
What do you guys think of white nail polish? Does it remind you of the ’90s too? I can’t possibly be the only one who used to paint my nails with white out in school. Or maybe I was. Either way, I’d love to hear about nail trend that you’ve been loving lately in the comment section.
